1. Your game saves

The Detective’s Desk stores case progress, answers, earned stars, unlocked hints, pinned clues, notebook notes, tutorial progress and preferences in this browser on this device. The game uses browser storage so you can return to your investigation after closing the website.

Player accounts and automatic cloud syncing are disabled in this release. The game does not upload your notebook or saved case answers to an account server.

Local saves remain until you reset them, clear website data, or your browser removes them. Private browsing may remove saves when the session ends. Different browsers, devices and website addresses have separate saves.

2. Browser storage & backups

The game uses local storage for saves and a browser cache for game files and offline access. These support the game’s normal operation. The game code does not include a separate analytics service.

In My saves, you can export a backup file or import a file you choose. Backups include your progress and notes. An export is saved or shared wherever you choose; it is not automatically sent to the publisher. Keep your backups private if your notes contain personal information.

3. Website delivery

Cloudflare hosts this website. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare may process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and request time. This is separate from the game saves kept in your browser.

4. Planned optional advertising

Live advertising is not active in this release. Hints currently work for free. We plan to offer optional Google rewarded ads for extra hints, after the necessary approval and consent setup. Banner ads and automatic advertising breaks are not part of this plan.

This release does not load Google’s advertising library or request ads. Publisher verification information remains on the site. Before optional advertising is enabled, we will provide the required consent choices and update this policy to describe the active advertising setup.

When Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads using those visits. Ad services may also process device and request information, ad interactions and completion events to deliver, measure and protect advertising.

Before enabling advertising, we will provide the required consent choices for applicable visitors and update this policy to reflect the active setup. Any additional advertising vendors will be identified through the applicable consent information. Choosing whether to watch a rewarded ad is separate from choosing whether to consent to advertising data use.

5. If you contact us

If you email the publisher, your email address, message and any attachments are used to answer and manage your request. Email is handled through Gmail, under Google’s Privacy Policy. Correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the request, maintain necessary records and meet applicable obligations.

Do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information. Playing the current game does not require sending us your name or email address.

6. Your choices

• Use My saves to keep a backup or move your progress.
• Use the game’s Settings → Reset this device’s game progress to reset your local game record.
• Use your browser’s website-data controls to remove stored data and cached files for this address. This can erase your progress; export a backup first if you want to keep it.
• Email joelwalaaw@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests about information you have sent to the publisher.

The publisher cannot remotely retrieve or delete game saves held only in your browser. You control those copies and any backup files you export.

7. Links to other services

If you follow an external link, such as the game’s YouTube link, that service handles your visit under its own privacy policy.

8. Changes & contact

We will update this page when the game’s data practices change, including before enabling live advertising or introducing accounts. The date above shows the latest revision.
