THE DETECTIVE’S DESK
About the detective desk
Take the time each mystery deserves.
The Detective’s Desk is a browser detective puzzle game published by Joel Walaa. It contains 50 Easy cases, 50 Medium cases, 50 Hard cases and 17 Pen & Paper investigations, together with a separate guided tutorial.
What you investigate
The library combines shorter analytical puzzles with interview-led casework. You may compare a maintenance interval with a statement, trace a numbered receipt, reconstruct a sequence of handovers or question people about a disputed event. The stories ask you to link a conclusion to a specific record.
Interview cases provide people, searchable places, follow-up conversations and evidence to present. Pen & Paper cases are longer investigations intended for slower work. There is no countdown: you can keep notes, leave a case and return to it.
Fiction and evidence
The playable stories, people, exhibits and solutions are fictional. A small number of cases are fictional adaptations inspired by historical events; their in-game source notes distinguish the inspiration from the invented investigation. A suspect’s appearance or confidence is not evidence. A contradictory account alone does not establish an unstated offence.
Free play and local saves
This release has no player sign-in, subscription or live advertising. Hints are currently free. Progress and notes are saved in your browser; My saves provides backup export and import. Optional rewarded ads for extra hints are planned only after the relevant provider approval and consent setup.

For a puzzle error, include the case title and the record or question involved. Please avoid posting a full solution publicly so other players can investigate it themselves.
